Ẹ káàbọ̀! (that's “welcome!”)

The Odusanya Family

Our little corner of the internet, for the grandparents, parents, aunties, uncles, cousins, little ones, and everyone who's basically family.

Meet the crew

What's in a name?

What does Odusanya mean?

Like most Yoruba names, ours is a whole sentence squeezed into a single word. Here's how it breaks down:

  1. Odù

the oracle: Ifá's sacred verses of wisdom

  2. san

to pay back, to make good

  3. ìyà

    suffering, hard times

“The oracle has repaid our suffering.”

In other words: whatever life throws at us, the good times always come back around, and this family comes back louder than ever.

Say it with us!

For the in-laws who are still practising. We love you.

Pronounced O-du-san-ya.
